Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 6 Review: "Don't Jump Around Much Anymore"
One dance move to "Jump Around" is all it takes to knock Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 6 off its rails, and by the time Roy's knee gives out, so has everybody's New Year's Eve.
"Don't Jump Around Much Anymore" splits its runtime between two parties, and neither one is really about the party. Zelda Southport's yacht bash gives the Lady Greyhounds a night to actually be a team outside the locker room, and it gives Alice one more shot at fitting in with them. Jamie's launch gives Roy, Keeley, and Rebecca a reason to be in the same room, and it ends with all three of them somewhere they didn't plan to be.

- Ted and Michelle finally have the honest post-divorce conversation at Mae's pub, and she tells him to stop hiding behind work and start dating again
- Alice attends Zelda's NYE party fresh off her suspension, gets a genuine olive branch from Gemma, then watches it curdle when Lizzie reveals Gemma talked to the team about her behind her back
- Roy dislocates his knee dancing with Jamie, lands in the hospital, and Keeley meets Dr. Erin Beaumont face to face for the first time
- Drunk and medicated, Roy says Keeley's name in front of Erin, and Erin leaves without a word
- Rebecca spends the night worried Matthijs is gone for good, then he shows up at the hospital and they get a shot at reconnecting
- Beard misreads a signal from Zelda's much younger friend Claudine and gets shut down hard
The team stuff still knows what it's doing
Alice's arc is the one worth watching closely this week. Gemma reaching out to tell her the team doesn't dislike her, they just don't know her, is a small, well-earned scene. Then Lizzie undercuts it without meaning to, and Alice ends the night right back where she started. That's a smarter way to write a slow-burn redemption arc than just handing her a win, and it's more evidence the show knows exactly what it's building with her.
Ted and Michelle's tavern and post tavern conversation is doing the quieter, harder work of the episode. No jokes, no bit, just two people who used to be married being honest about what happened after. It lands because the show has earned three seasons of history with these two, and it sets up the rest of the season's Ted romance arc without forcing it.
The Roy and Keeley hospital detour
Here's where the episode either works for you or it doesn't. Roy blowing out his knee dancing to "Jump Around" is a fun, dumb, very Roy way to get hurt. What happens after is where it gets messy on purpose. Keeley finding out Dr. Erin is the woman Roy's been seeing, then stepping aside so they can have their moment, only for Roy to say Keeley's name while he's drugged up, is the show pulling the will-they-won't-they string about as hard as it can without snapping it.
It's not subtle. It's not trying to be. Whether that works depends entirely on how much patience you've still got for Roy and Keeley circling each other, and after this many seasons, that patience is wearing thin.

So where does that leave the episode?
Take away the hospital detour and this is one of the stronger episodes of the season, quietly moving Alice and Ted forward in ways that actually mean something. Keep the hospital detour in and you've got a show still convinced the Roy and Keeley slow burn needs one more twist before it lets these two just be together. The team stuff earns this one on its own. The romance stuff is just riding along.
